Category: Loose Leaf Tea
Also known as Tieguanyin oolong tea, Fine Ti Kuan Yin is one of the most famous Chinese oolongs, and has a distinctive and highly-prized orchid-like flavor. The tightly rolled olive green leaves brew up into a burnt gold liquor with a floral character and a hint of sweetness.
This luxury loose leaf tea is carefully blended and packaged by hand in a reusable tin or a resealable kraft bag. Our 4 oz. tin or kraft bag makes approximately 40 cups of tea. Our 8 oz. kraft bag makes approximately 80 cups.
Organic oolong tea (Origin: China)
Clean and sharp, with notes of orchid and citrus, a hint of sweetness, and a buttery finish.
Use 1 level teaspoon per 6 oz. water. Heat water until briskly steaming (not boiling). Steep for 2 - 3 minutes. This tea may be infused more than once.
To prepare Fine Ti Kuan Yin, we recommend that you use a teapot, tea infuser, or tea filter. These brewing methods give the tea leaves enough room to expand as the tea steeps, resulting in a richer, more flavorful cup. Like many oolong teas, Fine Ti Kuan Yin can be infused many times over.
Oolong tea contains a moderate amount of caffeine, less than half as much as coffee per cup.
Oolong tea boosts energy, helps with focus, and supports digestion.
Fine Ti Kuan Yin is also sometimes referred to as Tieguanyin or Iron Goddess of Mercy tea. It gets its name from Guanyin, a Buddhist bodhisattva associated with compassion. This oolong tea is from eastern China and is notable for its floral, orchid-like notes. Fragrant and full of flavor, Fine Ti Kuan Yin tea is said to be China’s most famous and beloved oolong. This tea is cultivated at high altitudes in the cool mountain air of China’s Fujian province.
After being harvested, the leaves are carefully processed and rolled into tight balls. When steeped, the dark, curly leaves of Ti Kuan Yin lighten and unfurl, unleashing their flowery aroma and taste. The brewed tea has a golden yellow color and a mild, slightly sweet flavor.
