Category: Loose Leaf Tea
Our hibiscus tea consists of large parts of the dried flower, not a lot of broken pieces, which makes for an extra flavorful cup. This tea brews into a delightfully tart stand-alone tea, and also makes a nice addition to other teas (try it with lemonade for a thirst-quenching treat in summer!)
This loose leaf hibiscus tea is carefully blended and packaged by hand in a reusable tin or a resealable kraft bag. Our 2 oz. tin or kraft bag makes approximately 35 - 40 cups of tea. Our 4 oz. kraft bag makes approximately 70 - 80 cups.
Organic hibiscus flowers (Origin: Egypt)
Bright, tart, and cranberry-like.
Use 1 heaping teaspoon per 6 oz. water. Heat water to a full boil. Steep for 5 minutes or more.
We recommend using a teapot, tea infuser, or tea filter. These brewing methods give the tea leaves enough room to expand as the tea steeps, resulting in a richer, more flavorful cup.
This herbal tea is naturally caffeine-free.
Hibiscus supports the immune system.
Hibiscus tea, also sometimes known as roselle or red tea, is a tart, cranberry-like herbal tea with a variety of health benefits. This tea is enjoyed in regions all around the world, including in West Africa, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, India, Persia, Cambodia, and more. Hibiscus tea can be consumed on its own, or as an ingredient in other tea blends. It can be served hot or over ice (we think iced hibiscus mixed with lemonade makes a particularly tasty summer treat!)
Our hibiscus has a pleasantly tart, sweet flavor reminiscent of cranberry, and brews up a vibrant magenta color. We use whole, unbroken hibiscus petals. In addition to our classic hibiscus, we also carry many other flavored herbal blends featuring hibiscus.
