Category: Loose Leaf Tea
From Shizuoka on the Fujiyama mountain slopes, our organic Sencha is a classic example of a Japanese green tea. Sencha is one of the most popular green teas in Japan, and for good reason. This tea has a medium body and brews up into a pale green-gold liquor, with citrus and oceanic notes.
This loose leaf organic Sencha Green Tea is carefully blended and packaged by hand in a reusable tin or a resealable kraft bag. Our 4 oz. tin or kraft bag makes approximately 35 - 40 cups of tea. Our 8 oz. kraft bag makes approximately 70 - 80 cups.
Organic green tea (Origin: Shizuoka, Japan)
Oceanic and fresh, with creamy, tomato, citrus, and seaweed notes and a lively and astringent finish
Use 1 level teaspoon per 6 oz. water. Heat water until briskly steaming (not boiling). Steep for 1 to 2 minutes. For best taste, do not over steep. This high quality green tea can be infused twice and it will still maintain a wonderful flavor.
We recommend preparing Sencha using a teapot, tea infuser, or tea filter. These brewing methods give the tea leaves enough room to expand as the tea steeps, resulting in a richer, more flavorful cup.
Green tea is low in caffeine.
Green tea boosts energy, enhances mood, and helps with focus.
Sencha is one of the most popular green teas in Japan. Like other Japanese teas, Sencha tea leaves are steamed in order to halt the oxidation process immediately after harvest. This gives them their complex, vegetal taste and emerald green color.
Grown in Shizuoka, Japan on the Fujiyama mountain slopes, our organic Japanese Sencha is carefully processed and slightly steamed before rolling and drying. This tea has a rich aroma, a bright green colored leaf, and brews up into a vibrant green-gold hue.
